Be Well With: Warm Water & Lemon

I hope I’m not alone in the fact that when I’m staring down a busy schedule, sometimes my health becomes an afterthought. It’s a bit of a catch-22: as my personal or professional life takes flight, I should be most focused on being my best self. Instead, increased opportunities often mean less time for personal wellness.

I’ve found that simplicity is key to staying on a healthy path. Starting my morning with this small ritual not only aids in physical detox, but it also helps center me for the next day ahead.

The benefits of drinking warm lemon water are well-documented and include everything from clearing out skin impurities to boosting the immune system. Best yet, this mixture only takes a minute to prepare.


  • 8 oz. warm (not boiling!) water
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Dropper-full of turmeric tincture*
  •  Dropper-full of ginger tincture*
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

Drink the above on an empty stomach to jumpstart your day. Hopefully it will be just the boost you need to seize each new opportunity that presents itself.
